Getting Started

Start Your Journey

How do I start?
Start by requesting a consultation. The consultation is where we discuss your goals, history, schedule, concerns, and whether Vitruv is the right fit.
You talk through your goals, training history, pain points, schedule, and comfort level. From there, Nik recommends the best starting point.
The assessment follows the consultation. Small-group training uses a foundational movement review. Semi-private and one-on-one coaching use a more in-depth pain and movement assessment when needed.

No. Your starting point is exactly what the consultation and assessment are for.

Most members train with us two to three times per week. Two sessions can produce excellent results when you’re consistent, while three provide more practice and may help you progress faster. Your ideal frequency will depend on your goals, experience, recovery, and other activities. We’ll help you choose the most effective and sustainable schedule.

Sessions are 60 minutes.

Vitruv is pronounced “vih-TROOV,” with the final syllable rhyming with “move.” The name is inspired by Vitruvius, a first-century BCE Roman architect and engineer best known for The Ten Books on Architecture. His work described three essential qualities of good design: durability, utility, and beauty.

We apply those same principles to training:

Function (Utility) — Move well and develop the physical ability to meet the demands of your life.

Resilience (Durability) — Build a body that can handle stress, recover, and remain capable over time.

Aesthetics (Beauty) — Build a body that reflects the work you’ve put in.

Together, these form the Vitruvian Triad. We believe great training should build a body that performs well, holds up, and looks strong.

Choose Your Path

Is this personal training or group fitness?
This is personal training in a small-group or personalized setting. It is not a crowded class or random workout.

In small-group training, clients generally follow the same overall training structure, but that does not mean every person performs every exercise in exactly the same way. Exercises, loads, ranges of motion, and progressions are adjusted based on your abilities, goals, and training history. In semi-private and one-on-one training, your entire program is designed specifically for you based on a more in-depth assessment.

Small-group uses a shared structure with individualized coaching. Semi-private uses a completely personalized program with more individual attention.

Yes. As a certified nutrition coach, I provide practical guidance to help you improve your eating habits, meal structure, protein intake, and overall nutrition in a way that supports your goals and fits your lifestyle. For those who want greater structure, personalization, and accountability, more in-depth nutrition coaching is also available.

No. Vitruv is not an open gym. Training happens by appointment or reserved training time with coaching.
Pain & Movement

Move with Confidence

What if I have pain or previous injuries?
Training starts by understanding your history, current limitations, and how your body responds to movement. Exercises can be modified and progressed intelligently.
No. Vitruv is not physical therapy and does not diagnose or treat medical conditions. When symptoms require medical evaluation or exercise clearance, Vitruv refers to an appropriate healthcare professional.
If your symptoms or medical history require clearance, you should receive it before training.

Vitruv does not ask you to ignore significant symptoms. Your response is monitored, exercises are adjusted when needed, and that information guides exercise selection and progression.
